POLSERES VERMELLES



Polseres vermelles and Pulseras Rojas in Spanish, is a Catalan television show. The first season aired on TV3 in 2011, with a second season planned for 2013. The show was created by Albert Espinosa and draws on his childhood experiences as a hospital patient. Espinosa and director-producer Pau Freixas had previously worked together on the film Herois.
The show tells the story of a group of Catalan children and teenagers who meet as patients in the children's wing of a hospital. Themes include friendship, the will to live, and the desire to overcome adversity. The show was originally planned for four seasons, with the second one premiering on January 2013.
The Spanish channel Antena3 aired the first season, dubbed into Spanish as Pulseras rojas, in summer 2012.
On 11 December 2012, TV3 announced 14 January 2013 as the premiere date for its second season. Antena 3 will premiere it dubbed later in 2013.

-CHARACTERS


Lleó (Àlex Monner). The leader. He turns 15 during the first season and has been at the hospital for two years. He has cancer and has had leg amputated. He shares a room with Jordi.

Jordi (Igor Szpakowski). The second leader (who would be the leader if the leader weren't there). He arrives at the hospital in the first episode. He is 14 years old. He has cancer and has to have a leg amputated. He's in love with CristinaCristina (Joana Vilapuig). The girl. She is the only girl in the "Polseres". She lives on a different floor. She suffers from anorexia. During the first season, she debates whether she is in love with Jordi or Lleó.
Ignasi (Mikel Iglesias). The handsome one. He is admitted to the hospital after fainting on the playground. At first, he doesn't want to make friends, but as it becomes clear that he will be hospitalized for some time he joins the "Polseres".
Toni (Marc Balaguer). The clever one. He is the oldest of the "Polseres", but he seems like a young child. He has Asperger's syndrome, which makes him seem a bit odd. He arrives at the hospital because of a motorcycle accident.
Roc (Nil Cardoner). The indispensable one. The kid of the group. He is in a coma after jumping off a diving board. His mother visits him frequently and speaks to him. He has a special relationship with Toni because he can communicate with him despite being in a coma. Roc serves as the show's narrator.


THE DIRECTOR: PAU FREIXAS

Pau Freixas (b. Barcelona, October 25, 1973) is a director, screenwriter and film and television producer Spanish. Currently directs and co-produced the television series Polseres vermelles (in Castilian red bracelets), created and written by Albert Espinosa, one whose second season broadcast TV3 (Catalan Television) in 2012.2

BIOGRAPHY

From early vocation, Freixas studied Image and Sound Training center at a time when there were Catalonia film schools and professions related to the world of cinema did not have formal academic training centers universitarios.3 After completing his studies, went double, his first short film format 35 mm.4 amateur.
